Phlebotomy

The phlebotomy course is comprised of hands-on and theoretical training in the skilled technique of phlebotomy (blood drawing). Each major skill in phlebotomy, from hand washing to venipuncture, is demonstrated and instructed with step-by-step procedures. The goal of the course is to train individuals in the skill of phlebotomy.

Certification
Successful graduates will be able to demonstrate proficiency in all of the required program competencies, will have performed a minimum of 25 venipunctures and 5 capillary punctures, and will be eligible for certification as a Phlebotomy Technician through the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT, 7007 College Boulevard., Suite 705, Overland Park, Kansas, 66211, 800.875.4404
