Eagle Gate College Group Expands Nursing Program to Salt Lake City and Layton

Nursing Students Bypass Waiting Lists and Begin Coursework in January 2010

(Salt Lake City,Utah) March 20, 2009 - Eagle Gate College Group, operating Eagle Gate College and Provo College, announced today that it is accepting applications for its nursing program at its downtown Salt Lake City site and Layton campus. The college’s nursing program is designed to help ease Utah’s nursing shortage. Classes will begin in January 2010 at newly-designed classroom and nursing clinical facilities in Salt Lake City and Layton.

“Our Colleges have a long and productive history of working with the state universities to educate nurses,” said Janet Head, Eagle Gate College President. “We are delighted that we have been able to now make our nursing program accessible in downtown Salt Lake City and at our Layton campus.”

There is a growing demand for nurses in Utah but many programs have long waiting lists. Eagle Gate College is now enrolling qualified students in preparatory nursing courses for students beginning on January 11, 2010.

The Eagle Gate College Group operates Provo College, whose nursing graduates boast outstanding NCLEX pass rate well above the national norm. “I am really excited,” said Tristin Rasmussen, a student starting at the new facilities, “there was no waiting list so I can get in and get done and get on with my life and career in nursing.”
