The MEPN program at Idaho Falls is for anyone with a non-nursing bachelor’s degree who wishes to earn a Master’s degree in Nursing. The MEPN program (also known as the Direct-Entry or Entry-Level MSN program) is presented in a blended format, with both on-campus and online nursing courses.

What You’ll Learn

The Idaho Falls MEPN program will equip you with the necessary knowledge and skills to earn your master’s degree in nursing and pass the NCLEX-RN exam. Upon completing your MSN degree and licensure requirements, you’ll be set for a successful career in the nursing field.

Our Idaho Falls Direct Entry MSN program will prepare you for the following duties and responsibilities:

Create patient care plans or contribute to existing plans
Perform and order diagnostic tests
Operate and monitor medical equipment
Diagnose various health problems

Campus Location

Our campus in Idaho Falls, ID, is located off exit 116 (Cole Road) from the I-15, heading north. Downtown Idaho Falls is only a two-mile drive east of campus. Besides the historic downtown area, students can visit multiple attractions in Idaho Falls. The Museum of Idaho and The Art Museum of Eastern Idaho are just two examples.

Can you get an MSN without an RN?

A Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) is a degree, whereas an RN is a license. If you enroll in our accelerated Master’s Entry Program in Nursing (MEPN), you can pursue your MSN degree, even without an RN license. However, MEPN graduates can take the NCLEX-RN exam after they receive their MSN degree.

Why do I need an MSN Degree?

The MSN degree will provide you with a solid foundation and future career advancement. It’s also a big step toward becoming an educator, manager, administrator, or clinical nurse leader.

How many days a week do I have to come to campus?

Idaho Falls MEPN students are on campus one to two days per week.

Invitation for Third-Party Comments

Murray, Layton, Boise, and Idaho Falls Colleges will host an accreditation site visit by the Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) for accreditation of our Master’s Entry Program in Nursing (MEPN) and MSN Program October 9-10, 2024.

In accordance with CCNE’s procedures, the Commission provides the opportunity for program constituents and other interested parties to submit, in writing, comments concerning the program’s qualifications for initial accreditation.

You are invited to share your comments regarding the College’s MEPN and MSN Program in Murray/ Layton, UT, Idaho Falls, ID and Boise, ID to CCNE by September 9, 2024. All third-party comments must be written in English. CCNE shares third-party comments only with the evaluation team. At no time during the review process are these comments shared with the hosting program. However, all compliance concerns related to the accreditation standards will be identified in the accreditation report, and the program will have an opportunity to respond to those concerns as part of its response to that report.
