What is FAFSA?
FAFSA, or the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, is a form created by the U.S. Department of Education. Completing this form is an essential step for current and future college students, both at undergraduate and graduate levels, to assess their eligibility for various forms of student financial aid.
While FAFSA may initially seem centered on federal aid, its scope extends to state and college-provided financial aid, making it the key to exploring diverse financial assistance options.
Most students may qualify for financial aid, regardless of their income or circumstances. For instance, students who don’t qualify for need-based aid may still be eligible for an unsubsidized Stafford Loan.
Upon completing and submitting the FAFSA form, a federal processor reviews the provided data and shares the results with the colleges specified in your application.
While the FAFSA form, with its over 100 questions, may appear intimidating, rest assured that it’s manageable with the proper guidance. At Eagle Gate College, our expert financial aid team is ready to assist you through each step of the process.
