Medical Assisting students enrolled at our Boise campus are trained through online instruction, hands-on lab exercises, and supervised externship hours. What You’ll Learn

The Boise Medical Assistant program focuses on the clinical and administrative skills performed by MAs on a daily basis. During the program, you’ll be trained in several healthcare areas, including various administrative functions and clinical duties.

At Boise, you’ll learn how to:

Schedule and manage medical appointments.
Take medical histories and record vital signs
Take blood samples and give injections.
Prepare patients for examinations.
Administer electrocardiograms (ECGs).
Remove sutures and change bandages.
Sterilize medical equipment.
Order pharmacy prescriptions.
Oversee billing, collections, and bookkeeping.

Medical Assisting Program with a Career-Driven Curriculum

Graduates of the Boise MA program are qualified to take the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification exam, offered by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA). Completing our Medical Assisting courses will help you prepare for the CMA exam, while providing you the skills and knowledge to excel in your first job as a Medical Assistant.

Medical Assisting graduates from Boise are trained in the following areas:

Microbiology, hematology, venipuncture, and urinalysis
Transcription and charting
Patient vital signs, ECG’s, and draping/gowning
Minor surgical assisting
Injections and pharmacology

Campus Location

The Eagle Gate College campus in Boise, ID, is located just off exit 50A (Cole Road) from I-84, heading west. The campus is conveniently located only seven miles southwest of downtown Boise. Aside from Boise’s fantastic bar and restaurant scene, students can also escape the city and enjoy the beautiful outdoors. The mountains surrounding Boise offer exceptional hiking and mountain biking trails, including the hike to Table Rock.
